Your pet is in safe hands.

Akaal Pet Hospital is fully equipped to do most soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. We understand your concerns about the risks of anesthesia and utilize the most updated monitoring equipment to help alleviate these concerns.

Spay and Neuter

Spaying and neutering ensure that your pet cannot reproduce. Spaying or neutering your pet is an essential decision for pet owners. As animal lovers who value our pets, it is important to understand the impact of this decision.

Our team usually recommends spaying or neutering at one year of age to both prevent unwanted pregnancies and to reduce the risk of other health problems. There are, of course, exceptions to that rule and our veterinarians will have an open discussion with you to decide on the best time to spay or neuter your particular dog or cat.

Is it better to let my dog have one litter of puppies before getting her spayed?

There is no study or evidence to support the notion that having a litter of puppies or kittens will benefit the physical health or emotional well being of your pet. In fact, evidence shows that females spayed before their first heat cycles have significantly reduced the risk of mammary cancers.

Orthopedic Surgery

Akaal Pet Hospital is proud to offer orthopedic surgical procedures for injuries and conditions to soft tissue areas of your pet’s body. We use state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging to enhance our capabilities for orthopedic surgery, ensuring that your pet has access to the highest standard of veterinary medicine.

Our surgical team is board-certified, so you can rest assured that your pet is in good hands.

We’re pleased to offer Lymphocyte T-Cell Immunomodulator (LTCI). LTCI is a revolutionary, USDA-approved treatment option for osteoarthritis. The benefits of LTCI include increased mobility and reduced lymphocytosis. This treatment is a safe way to address ailments such as arthritis in pets.

Your pet’s health is our top priority.

At Akaal Pet Hospital, our team is filled with passionate animal lovers who are here to help you and your pet! We’re pleased to provide care for the pets of Citrus Heights, Roseville, Granite Bay, and beyond.
